I would LOVE to Join or Learn More about a Committee

Our committees are the places where we “create” Sinai Temple. We brainstorm and plan and give life to all the possible aspects of a Temple community. Please consider joining one of our committees or just feel free to visit a single meeting to see what is happening. You can learn about the next meeting of any committee by calling the Temple Office 736-3619. You can also email the Office.
Adult Education Committee (Chair: Laurie Weinberg)
This committee plans and coordinates educational programs of interest to congregants and the larger Jewish community.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah Committee (Chairs: Kim Black/Barbara Winer)
This committee coordinates and assigns the Bar/Bat Mitzvah dates of Sinai Temple’s children.
Men of Sinai (Chair: Jack Henrie)
Men of Sinai offers programming for the men in the congregation. It also provides meals at various Temple functions (Purim, Chanukah etc)
Caring Community Committee (Chair: Lynn Solomon)
Our congregation hopes to enhance the feeling of belonging for all of our members. This committee helps people feel part of our community.
Cemetery Committee (Chair: Ron Weiss )
The cemetery committee manages the funds and grounds of Sinai Cemetery.
Dues Committee (Chair: Laurie Weinberg)
This committee is responsible for dues abatements. The committee's work is confidential.
Finance Committee (Chair: Alan Goldsmith)
This committee reviews the budget, endowment funds and other financial matters of the temple.
House Committee (Chair: Irwin Pers)
This committee is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the building and grounds.
Interfaith Committee (Chair: Tricia Freedman)
This committee ensures that Sinai is responsive and inclusive when it comes to interfaith families.
Librarian (Chair: Tina DeMeza)
This committee maintains and expands the temple’s library.
Membership Committee (Chair: Karen Mendelsohn)
This committee concerns itself with recruitment of prospective members for the temple and the status of current members. The committee places special emphasis on membership retention.
Religious School Committee (Chair: Jennifer Metsch)
This committee meets monthly and works with the Director of Education to oversee and develop programs for the religious school.
Ritual Committee (Chair:Steve Kessler)
This committee works with the Rabbi and the Cantor to refine and enhance services plus holiday celebrations from Rosh Hashanah to Purim!
Social Action Committee( Chair: Kathy Roberts)
This committee develops and implements opportunities for congregants to participate in “Tikkum Olam” (repairing the world)
STUFF - Sinai Temple Under Five Families (Chairs: Melanie Courtemanche, Alisha Snow)
This committee organizes wonderful events throughout the year for families with young children.
Technology Committee: (Chair: Howard Kalodner)
This committee assists in reviewing the application of technology in assisting the accomplishment of the Temple's mission.
Youth Committee (Chair: Pat Gootzit)
This committee oversees the Temple’s youth group programming.
